

In 2014, young adults from abroad named Mr. Atkinson has continued to play supporting roles in other comedy films.Ītkinson in 1997, promoting Bean. After that, he played Edmund Blackadder in the popular Blackadder series from 1983 to 1989. He then went to do Not the Nine O'Clock News. In 1976, Rowan Atkinson did a one off television series called Canned Laughter for ITV.

At Oxford, he also acted and performed early sketches for the Oxford University Dramatic Society (OUDS), the Oxford Review and the Experimental Theatre (ETC), meeting writer Richard Curtis and composer Howard Goodell, with whom he would continue to collaborate during his career. He continued with an MSc at The Queens College Oxford, first achieving notice at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1976.

He was educated at Durham Choristers School, followed by St Bees School, and studied electrical engineering at Newcastle University. He has two elder brothers, Rodney Atkinson, an economist who narrowly lost the United Kingdom Independence Party leadership election in 2000, and Rupert Atkinson.Ītkinson was raised Anglican. His parents were Eric Atkinson, a farmer and company director, and his wife Ella May, who married on 29 June 1945. Rowan Sebastian Atkinson was born on the 6 January 1955, in Consett, County Durham, England.
